1/4/2020 0 Comments Not-an-Experience-Post: DCDuring this DC trip there were a lot of interesting works to see, especially those that were similar to the work I'm doing right now. I took photos of my favorites (above), and included detailed critiques about them in my sketchbook for the assignment. I think after seeing all of these new works, I want to try reincorporating light into my works, and may try abstract expressionism with my cell piece after all. While I would like to bend more metal, I really liked the pieces with the neon and the beehives, which showed the sheer variety of media that can really be incorporated into art. But.! BUT! My absolute favorite thing that I saw at D.C. was the tiny Duchamp mini sculpture set. I definitely want to make mini collectible versions of my work. I think I'll do that for my last piece this year, and I'm excited.
